Passing is an extension of Receiving and leads to Trapping. Use passing to move the opponent, to get to his opposite side, or to guide him into a strike or disadvantageous position. Using examples from Aiki, Karate, Judo and Seiken Budo, Hanshi Annesi illustrates siimple "hard" passes, hard-soft passes, and flowing soft passes that quickly reduce the opponent to a defensive state and increase the chances of controlling him.
